little projects from 2021

Happy new years to everyone. Before I get into all of my new projects for 2022, and considering Im in lock down with COVID and can't can't my friends over to play, I wanted to finish up some of my little pieces I've ben working on in 2021. Ill share these a few at a time this week. These are small dioramas or vignettes I like to make out of the byproducts of other projects, with leftover minis, or out of interesting junk I find. 

I do a lot of model making out of junk. Often times, its construction debris I put in my pocket at work, or some mess I end up with--while I'm making something else--that strikes my imagination in some way or another. Lately, I've been experimenting with different bases for small vignettes/dioramas. The tubs the paint soap I buy comes in are great. I used one for this little tribute I made to Pancho Villa's División del Norte.

Metal lids, this one (below) from a salsa jar, also work great. Here is another little model, this time, the subject is the siege of the Atarazanas, military barracks by the naval yards of Barcelona. On July 20, 1936, the famous anarchist carpenter, organizer, and guerrilla, Francisco Ascaso, died along with five hundred other workers, to put down the nationalist military coup that began in their city the previous day.
